About Chrysalis at Tynedale

Chrysalis at Tynedale was born in 2009 when an art class for people living with dementia proved to be a popular, more flexible option than day care. We were started by three people with extensive management experience in specialist dementia care.

Since we formed, we have gone from strength to strength, by building up our membership of people with dementia and their families. We provide an increasing range of tutored activities (often suggested by members) each week and group support for families.

We're learning all the time from our members and their families; they are the real experts. Because we're not part of any statutory service, we can think creatively, act quickly and tailor the support we offer to suit individual families.
