King's Award for Voluntary Service

On 14th November 2025, Chrysalis was awarded the King’s Award for Voluntary Service (KAVS). This incredible honour - the highest award given to volunteering groups in the UK - recognises all 70 of our volunteers. Equivalent in stature to an MBE, the 2025 KAVS is a lifetime award, and it celebrates the outstanding work done by local volunteer groups that make a direct and meaningful difference to their communities.

The KAVS judges recognised the huge benefit our volunteers bring to the community and the profound impact they have on people with dementia and their families.

Rosemary Robson-Tinsley, our Chair, said: “I’m thrilled that our wonderful volunteers have been recognised with such a prestigious award. Our 70 strong team includes admin and finance roles, but the majority of our volunteers support our attendees on a 1:1 basis. We are reliant on their unwavering dedication to provide the high standards of care the community so desperately needs. Dementia affects each person differently, so we rely on the commitment and professionalism of our volunteers to deliver tailored activities and support sessions that value every individual and treat them with respect.  Ultimately, we want to create an environment which is engaging and fun, gives choices, and empowers people. We can’t do that without an outstanding team; this is for all of them”.
